Before my husband went in for surgery I was told about
a company that makes underwear. A little pricey but found them new in the package on ebay from a seller and ordered 3 pair which were waiting for us when we got back from the hospital stay.
He does like them. The only problem is the inner piece of material I need to tack down and make it more of a custom fit for the bag instead of the one piece of material that is there now. I suppose it has to be made this way not knowing which side the man's stoma is located if it is an ileostomy or colostomy.
He always wore briefs but this boxer style seems to be more conducive now. So I bought a 6 pack of Haynes boxer briefs a few days ago. I'm going to try to sew in an insert that will keep the pouch in between the 2 layers of material. I say this as I am thinking it is better to have the bag NOT pressed against the skin especially when it is really hot outside. We live in Florida so it is hotter longer and I am wondering if I am thinking this correctly.
Just wondering what the other guys do out there.
