I am scheduled for a defecography next week and I'm anxious about
it. Not really the test itself, but the results. I was wondering if anyone on here would mind sharing any details of their defecography experience, I have a couple questions, they are sort of weird but it would really ease my mind if anyone can answer:
-Did anyone do a prep for this test?
-What's the consistency of the paste they put in you? I have read it is similar to toothpaste...but there are a million different kinds of toothpaste nowadays so that doesn't really help...
-When they put the barium paste in you, did you eventually feel the urge to go to the bathroom? I can go if I feel the urge but I really have to FEEL the urge to go. I know that a bowel movement is a process...I am worried if they don't put enough of the stuff in, or if it doesn't really feel like my rectum is full like with a normal bm, maybe I won't have to go!
-Lastly - when they insert the paste did they pretty much fill you up right to your anus? Or do they insert it way up in there? I remember seeing a picture of the thing they inject it with, and in this particular picture the tool was REALLY long and I kept thinking, well if they stick it that far up in there of course I won't have to go!
