Hello all-

I know I've posted numerous concerns, questions, fears, etc.  I've received more valuable information from this site than many other drs, internet searches and more.

So...I'm keeping my surgery date for next Monday (Oct 10) and I am at peace with my decision.  I accept what's going on with my body and what I need to do.  I'm still so, so afraid, but at least I'm done with the back and forth.

Thank you all so much.  I'll keep you updated!

Good luck with the surgery and let us know how you are doing when you are up to it.

Of course you are anxious...it's normal...but like so many say focus on the end result of finally feeling better after the healing.

My husband wasn't even out of the hospital and was so happy he made the decision. Fast forward 8 months later and he has his life back and is so grateful in so many ways even with a permanent ileostomy.

That is wonderful! Be sure to keep us updated on everything, I'm having the same surgery in a month so I'll be keeping an eye out for your posts so I can see how you are doing! It sounds like you made a great choice, I'll be sending good thoughts your way :)

Good for you! You will be amazed at how much better you will feel and you have every right to be nervous, every one of us were before our surgery. I know I was petrified but I am forever grateful at the outcome of my surgery and how much it has given me my life back. Keep us posted and looking forward to hearing how great you are after the initial recovery period. All the best
