Excuse my negativity but I need to get this out ...
I had UC .. had my colon removed, had a temp ileo, had the reversal.
Suffered from chronic pouchitis and decided to go back to an end ileo.
Been feeling sick and had a scope and guess what ... I have "diversion pouchitis"!! 5/12
What the hell man. I have pouchitis when I'm connected, I get disconnected I have pouchitis again.
Now they're talking about
short chain fatty acid enemas ... which I can't get until later this week. I feel like crap right now.
Tired, lethargic, nauseous ... it's all crumbling down around me.
:(

I'm sorry, I'm sorry.. you are totally right to feel like crap.
Can't the disconnected pouch be removed? Like more surgery is what you want...

UC,
Are the short chain fatty acid enemas something given in the hospital or something you do at home. I have had diversion colitis that cleared on it's own, but I have an ileo with intact colon and rectum. My ileo needed due to colon and rectal injury not disease, but I have wondered about
these short chain fatty acid enemas.

The SCFA enemas are made at a compounding pharmacy. They ordered the ingredients and mixed the enemas for me.
I am going to be starting them today, will keep you guys and gals posted on how they work or not.
