Hey, everyone! I've been out of surgery for about
4 1/2 hours now and I'm doing great at this point. They gave me an injection in my right side that is supposed to block pain from the incision area for 12-16 hours. Between that and the pain med pump, I am very comfortable. I've walked two laps in the halls already.
They ok'd me for clear liquids right away, but I've decided to stick with a little ice chips for now and try the liquids in the morning. I would rather be conservative and spare myself the misery!
Funny story: the last two time I had a little trouble with my catheters post-surgery. It seemed like I just could never get them drain properly, they were uncomfortable, etc. In the recovery area I was gushing to my husband about
how whoever did this one did a great job because it was really comfortable. Well, I got transferred to my room and my nurse informed me that I didn't have a catheter so if I felt the urge to go, I would need to get up to the bathroom. No wonder it was so comfy.....like nothing was even there! Haha!
