It's March now and I'm at the halfway point with my ostomy. I'm so close to saying goodbye!
My surgeon told me I still have something called the ileocecal valve, therefore I shouldn't worry too much about my reversal. I think he means I won't be going to the bathroom as many times as other reversal patients, but can someone please clarify this?
If you've had it reversed, do you have this valve? What was your reversal aftermath like? Constant trips to the bathroom or what?
I did have a section of small intestine taken out but my ileostomy is to keep pressure off my anal fistula, not for intestinal purposes.
