Blood

I am trying not to freak out because I'm not in any pain whatsoever... but...

I had my j pouch and loop ileostomy surgery about 7 weeks ago, and every so often I'll have some mucous almost discharge looking stuff still eliminating out of my butt (lovely I know!). I was told this was normal and is just a good sign that my j pouch is healing. However, today I noticed a little bit of blood! It has been like this all day. Has this happened to anyone?

mucous at 7 weeks is normal. that usually completely dissipates by 12 weeks. as far as the blood you may have just irritated the skin, was it in the bowl or just the tissue? My j-pouch is 9 months old and sometimes I wipe too hard and kinda break open the skin. I have a slight tear that never healed though. if its actually in the bowl, you may want to give your surgeon a call and see what they think. No pain is hopefully a sign its nothing serious though.
