Hi Im new to this site, I was diagnosed with UC in 99 at 23 had my first op in 06, and second op to remove anus in 08,had no probs until sunday i started to get pain on the upper left side of my stomach, any body got any ideas please. im 36 yr old female, please any one with an ileostomy , know why or what this pain is.

Welcome, upsadaisy. I would make an appointment with your gastroenterologist, because it could be anything from scar tissue to a stomach ulcer. I hope you find out what's causing the pain and get relief soon. Please keep us posted!

Thanks Cecilia, just made an appointment to see my gastro doc, next thursday, its going to be along journey for me my hubby and our children we have to go to dublin from limerick. will let u know what happens.

Hi everyone, so i went to see gastro doc yesterday, told me my proms were from a duodenal ulcer, gave me protium, i think that there is something else going on as they found this ulcer over a year ago, and im in a lot of pain, dont have the symptoms of this.

hi upsadaisy, I hope you are feeling a bit better, we might be neighbours, I've moved from Dublin 3 weeks ago to east Limerick.

I found this marvellous site just around the time of my op in may 2010. It is a mine of information & the members are just so helpful its unreal. I dont contibute much but I do keep an eye on it regularly.

I presume you have contact details of the Irish branch of the IA. I dont know whether they would be useful also in answering questions - there is also an IA forum with a thread for 'anyone from Ireland' - its not as busy as here but it might be useful.

Upsadaisy, I'm just down the road between Doon & Cappamore.  For those who don't know the local geography, thats about 5 miles away.

I was also operated on in St Vincents, my surgeon is Des Winter & so far I have no complaints,  fingers & toes crossed.

?  fancy meeting up to compare notes.  I'm in Dublin most weekends as my social life still lives there but evening times during  the week would suit.

? do you know of any other of our species in the vicinity
