Sounds like my husband's experience. They finallly put in NG tube and drained out the ileos from his stomach (had projectile vomiting of bile and feces from his gut). That lasted 36 hours until he pulled the whole thing out in his sleep. They could not get another NG tube in but getting him up and walking seemed to move the obstruction in his gut. '
Now we have been home for six days but cannot get ileostomy bags to stop leaking. We went through two weeks supplies in six days and home health just brought us two more days of supplies. Wearing this bag and suffering with the leaks has caused my husband to decide against post-op chemo which would cause him to wear bag another six-12 months. We will take our chances that the ONE lymph node that tested positive for cancer was the only one in his system. If not, well we have had 43 years together and knew that someday one of us would go before the other.
I am not trying to be depressing here...just realistic. My husband had all of the issues you had.....so try to get up and walk as much as possible because it does help "wake up" your digestive tract and get things to move. I hope you have a much better experience than we have had once you get home. My prayers are with you and your family for a full recovery.
