I am thankfully home from the hospital. It was an interesting experience over the last several days. First, I broke out in a terrible full-body rash from both meds and any adhesives from bandaids to tape. They had a dermatologist come in and see me on Saturday to biopsy the rash. She believes it is just hives, and that I need to have a skin patch test done to figure out what is going on with my skin. So far, under the Coloplast wafer is holding out for me. That was the only spot on my body that wasn't affected by the rash, and hopefully it contihnues to be unaffected. I have never had allergies to adhesives before, and now all I do is break out. It is crazy.
I was also running a fever of 101 all day Saturday, so who knows what caused that. My temperature is rising a bit again, so I was told to keep an eye on it and call right away if it goes above 101.
I am trying so hard to be hopeful that I am now on the mend, and all of these other things will be figured out. It is, for one, so nice to have a normal looking stoma, lol.
One thing that has me concerned, and I asked the residents, and they said it was normal: everytime I lie down I can feel my insides sloshing around in there. lmoat like they are doing somersaults. I know this did not happen to me the last time, so I am very concerned about it. It just doesn't seem like something that is normal to me. Has anyone else experienced this?
Other than everything else, my stoma seems to be functioing fine, and looks nice and healthy.
