It's interesting that some people have luck after months of dis-use and and others not. My muscles were not used for 12 months so it's no wonder that that although they still function, they contract and relax all at the wrong times. My therapist says she is sure that as long as I do the exercises with and without the biofeedback electrode, I'll be fully continent again in 6 months. It's a long time but I have no choice. I think that when your doctors know you'll be having a stoma for more than 3 months before reversal, they should tell you to get into therapy right away - it would have saved me a great deal of grief. I don't have any probblems with certain foods, at last, I'm used to avoiding the trouble makers. I just wish I didn't have to take so much immoidum every 4 hours, it's a pain having to remember but the consequences are diarrhea, which I can't hold. I'm trying to find an apartment-trade in England and if I do manage to get away for the 5 weeks, I can just imagine convcing my doctor to perscribe enough immodium for that long. Aside from that, as long as I always take my bottle-bidet with me everywhere, I'm fine.
