Hi!!
Before my surgery when I had those problems, I would clean well and use Aquaphor ointment. It seemed to help... I always wanted to do a yoga pose where I could get the area
open to fresh air!! I would hold
open my cheeks and let them air dry really well before applying the Aquaphor. That was always the problem, the area couldn't air dry! I remember letting my babies run around naked (we lived in the country) when that happened to them.
Best of everything to you!

Try a sitz bath! Add 1 tablespoon of either baking soda or powdered Aveeno (the type you use for full tub soaks for poison ivy). Both additives are very soothing to irritated bottoms.

The condition is also called butt burn or monkey butt. lol! It can be very painful though. I take a 1/2 dose of Questran twice a day to bind up acids so they do not burn coming out. I found cleaning with Balneol on toilet paper to be more soothing and cleansing than a bidet or a flushable wipe. Sometimes I use lidocaine topically to numb the area. Finally, Calmoseptine spread with a small gauze pad to soothe and protect the area. I also found a warm bath with 2 cups Epsom salts to be very heavenly. My episodes are directly related to what I eat. I keep a food journal to keep track of the problem foods. Each of us is very different so you may want to try a few suggestions from all of the posts. You can buy Balneol and Calmoseptine at most pharmacies. I hope you feel better soon. If none of our home remedies works for you, please call your doctor. Questran and lidocane are prescript
ion. When it is really bad, my doctor has me take oxycodone. I have unusually acidic body waste so this is a problem I deal with every few weeks for a few days.
I hope you find relief soon!
Cynthia too
