Burning Outside Flange Area

Hi,

My mother had an ileostomy about two years ago. Recently, the area around her Hollister bag, i.e. where she would use adhesive tape to affix the bag to the skin, has started burning / getting irritated a lot. There are no visible signs of burns, etc. Also, the area typically swells in the evening but is ok when she wakes up in the morning, apparently due to relaxation.

Any ideas that anyone would have or faced this situation before - much appreciated if you could chip in please?

Has she tried the powder? And letting it air out as much as possible? I'm new to this so that's all I've got.
