cHRISTINE
Christine,
Hi...
Well, I posted on here and the uoaa website and got alot of advice, what I gathered is we are both not drinking enough. When I sat down and added up what I was drinking pre-diet with tea and juices and water and coffee, it was actually more than a gallon. When I started dieting, I cut out sugary drinks, except for my coffee in the morning. Well, I had in actuality cut my liquids in half, which in turn made me have a low level dehydration which made me feel sick and dizzy upon standing and I think actually contributed to my nasty UTI.
Since then I have forced more water and coconut water, which I do not like, but have found i can tolerate. Coconut water is low calorie and has high potassium and I think is a more natural way to hydrate the body. I thought I would not be able to tolerate this mega amount of water, but it has not been a problem. i did notice an increase in urination at first, but that was good for my UTI and has seemed to have settled down. My energy level has increased, the dizziness upon standing is gone, and I am feeling better overall. I am drinking close to a gallon of water a day.
I did just have a ton of bloodwork with my internal medicine doctor and he found that my thyroid was too high and this can cause high heart rate. Ask your doctor to test your thyroid when he does blood work.
Let me know if any of this helps. I am seeing that this is still learn as you go and things change. Just when i thought I had everything all figured out, BAM, something goes off kilter. LOL
