Surgery went great!

I had the first surgery Tuesday afternoon and it went perfectly. She was able to do it completely laproscopically. I have some discomfort of course, but I don't feel sick anymore! I have been up walking twice and had my first bag change and ostomy lesson. They have me on liquids but added a roll in tonight, no nausea so far. They said with my positive attitude, I am coming along great. I also get a new smaller cast on my broken arm tomorrow! So glad to already be feeling like I'm on the road to recovery!

That is great to hear!! Keep up the positive attitude :) Did you name your stoma yet?

What did you do to your arm??? Ouch, all that and a broken arm..you need to positive tude just to get thru this...HUGS,

Awesome! i cant believe you are already walking...it took me a week and a couple of days to walk, mine was all laproscopically too..your doing awesome. i wish i was up walking that fast! i didnt eat solids for quite awhile. sorry about your arm. how did that happen? do you have a temp ileo or is it perm?

YAY!! This is a great report!! I am 3 weeks out of surgery and took my first road trip today. Over 8 hours in the car with my Mom....I earned some pain pills tonight! :P Keep up with the walking, it is the best thing for you, along with good rest. My hospital had specific Mobility Nurses, and mine showed up 8 hours after I got to my room after surgery. She introduced herself and said it was time to get out of bed! I sat in a chair for 30 minutes and then she came back and we walked a lap around the unit. Did it 3 times that day and every day I was in the hospital...going a little further each time. She was awesome and I truly believe the walking helped SO much in my healing. Keep on with that positive attitude and you'll be home and on your way to a new life in no time!!

I broke my arm a week before surgery and required emergency surgery to repair multiple compound fractures. Simple trip and fall, caught myself w my hands, but 2 years solid on pred has my bones like glass! I have a temp end ileo, and expect j pouch construction early June and takedown in August. I have great disability insurance and plan to stay out until I can be back for real.
