Looking forward to it. Excited and a bit nervous.

Trying to remember to keep my eye on the prize and that the coming weeks are temporary and will improve over time.

My husband also installed my bidet seat over the weekend, so it is ready when I come home.

Surgery is done. Everything went well according to the Docs.

I got a pleasant surprise with my room. It is in a brand new reno'd area of the hospital, and they gave me a private room instead of semi-private! It is gorgeous.

Still haven't passed any gas, but I can feel it moving around in there. It actually is more painful than the surgery site!

They will start me on food today, but just to pick away at it and go slow.

Excited to start this journey!

Hey Mom....good luck and hope everything goes well and you have an easy recuperation. Keeping your eye on the prize is a definite good way to look at it. Having the bidet in place already is good preparation too.

Rough couple of days. Fighting a lot of cramping, nausea and vomiting. I am passing stool, but only just this morning passed some gas.

Doc said the cramping could be caused by a partial ileus, partial blockage, the gut just adjusting to the new way of doing things or a stomach bug! Imagine, a stomach bug after surgery. That is exactly what it feels like though.


I didn't eat or drink anything yesterday. I am feeling a bit better today, so the Doc said to try food again. I'm going slow and hoping things settle.

Emptying the pouch so far is pretty good. I don't really get an urge per se, and there is no urgency at all. I just try and go every so often and out it comes. I hope it remains this easy.
