Am still in bad shape and awaiting a relocation/revision of stoma to other side. Found an adhesion/colorectal surgeon with a lot of experience. Trick is staying nourished enough. SO FAR bloods OK but another month or so. Still slugging boost vhc and liquidized baby food forcing walks and trying to stay positive. IDK how this will turn out, as I am LOADED with adhesions, but we shall see. THx for the check in. RJ
PS no improvement in stoma function so liquid, liquid, liquid...... if it goes emergent we just go sooner to surgery. Taking liquid ferritin for iron stores, liquid calcium, boost vhc, salted liquidized baby food meats with broth, liquidized yogurts really diluted. Also battling SIBO which all the antibiotics gave some weird side effect. Ugh! lost my eyelashes, hair falling out by the handfuls, other adoring malnutrition physical signs but SO FAR bloods amazing. All things considered. structurally the stoma is stenosed, recesses, is built under tension as scar tissue draws it in, and has two kinks behind it 5 and 10 cm into my body. Need a mild sleep med at night as the gas traps and does not exit out into the bag. Ugh.
