Is this the only kind of bag you have used? Are you using paste or an eakin seal?
The powder can keep you from getting a good seal so you have to be careful about that.
Sounds like you may have a skin dip or fold since it's always from one of the same two places.
Post your routine and maybe we can troubleshoot.

I remove the bag from the skin with the adhesive spray. then i clean stoma with the dry wipes & warm water and i dry it i apply the powder. i get a new bag from the box i cut it to the correct size i peal off the back then i apply it to my skin where the stoma is

I hold it for about 5 minutes like the nurses told me two minutes later the stoma starts working and the output goes all over my skin sometime the bags sticks sometime it does not.

Speak to your stoma nurse about the absorbent gels, they are little sachets that you simply place in the bag when you apply it and then you add a new one every time you empty the bag. It thickens the output up in the actual bag. Try not to put the powder on the skin either, just the actual stoma itself as I found the powder stopped the bag actually sticking to my skin as well so I just applied it tot he actual stoma and then wiped off any excess powder on the skin.

For a lot ofus, it is difficult to find the right bag system. You can call the other companies, like Hollister,and find the other companies listed online. They will send you samples of different bags for you to try out.
In the meantime you can buy immodium to slow the output.
Ask the stoma nurse to bring you eaken seals you can try out. Or order them as samples from the company. It's a kind of ring of putty that surrounds the base of the stoma and creates an extra seal to the bag.
I had similar problems in the beginning and solved them by using eaken rings together with a semi-convex bag. You might need a bag with convexity as well. It pushes agains the skin andmakes the stoma stand out a bit more so that output goes down into the bag.
The purpose of thickening your output is because the liquidy stuff will leak more easily than when it is thicker.

Petal - the stoma powder is meant to heal skin irritation so I do not see any sense in putting directly on the stoma. You put some one irritated skin andbrush off excess so that the bag can form a seal to the skin.

B'Dereh, I did used to use it for my irritated skin and brush the excess off but I still struggled to keep the bag stick as well so in the end, I put it on the stoma which helped firm the actual stoma up whilst applying the bag as it made the stoma shrink slightly. It didn't make much sense to me either but I did it by mistake once and it worked so I just kept doing it until I didn't need it anymore.

I think the only reason you will struggle to move forward with the bag is because you won't let yourself. I am only 30, I was 28 when I was given 2 ileo bags and spent nearly a year in hospital after falling from 12 stone to 6 and a half stone. I have since married and had a child. I am now a pretty decent 10 stone and I as well as the specialists are unsure if I am ok to have a J-pouch or whether I will have to remain with the bag for life. If I have to live witht he bag for life, I won't let it stop me doing everything I want to do though. you absolutely have to remain positive.

I can assure you that not everyone is as shallow as you're assuming right now. Having the bag will definitely not stop you finsing love. Only you can stop yourself finding love.

there are a lot of people in the same situation and I am sure there will be plenty of people on here that can tell you they have found their partner since having the bag. My wife loves my bag and has never let the bag get in the way of our relationship because she knows without the bag, I wouldn't be here today.

Coloplast has their own moldable seals too, which really helped me. Also, they have the Brava elastic barrier strips. They're a c-shaped strip that goes on the outside of the wafer and gives added support to problem areas.

And I don't think anyone here has mentioned benzoin tincture yet. Single best thing ever. Outside the US, you can get Friars Balsam tincture of benzoin - it is a first Sid product do it will help heal the skin (hurts like hell at first, but worth the rest) and dries super sticky - your wafer will not come loose with this stuff underneath. Polishdan uses it with no other seals or products with great results. Personally, I used it plus the moldable ring and the brava strips - just felt more secure.

It sounds like you are just putting the powder on your skin then the bag right on top of that. The bag won't stick to powder. You have to use the skin wipes or the spray also. I don't know a lot about those though. Also are you sure you are getting all the remover off? I don't use it either, because I am afraid I won't get it all off.
I used to use the gel things petal is talking about all the time, they do help control the output. But I got lazy and stopped,lol.

I use Hollister Adapt barrier rings, they're a similar product to Eakin rings. Single best product in my "armoury", in the year or so I've used them I haven't had a single leak.

1. clean your stoma area with soap and not showergel so that the area will be free of oil substance.
2. Wipe it with some Saline water to disinfect the area around the stoma so you will reduce the chance of getting terrible rashes.
3. apply the stomahesive powder (Convatec) around ur stoma and remove the excess.
4. go to pharmacy to purchase stomahesive paste.
I am using Convatec. squeeze around your stoma and press it down with a wet cottonball so that it is intact with your skin.
5. cut your stoma bag (Convatec as well) base on the size of your stoma, you may leave an extea 3mm around your stoma if you worry the bag will injured ur stoma later on.
6. stick the bag on with a 45degree tilt outwards. put some force onto you bag so that it is properly attached to your skin.

tips:
1.when you sleep at night, try not to sleep sideways.. try to sleep face up especially on the day you change your bag.
2. You must look for the types of stomabag that suits you. For example does soft base waffel works better or hard base. Convatec is suitable for me because it is hard based so less flexibility = lesser chances for the bag to unstick.
3. dry your skin thoroughly before you apply the bag.
4. i tried Braun stomabags but it's soft so it doesnt help on.the leaking part. but you can try cause it may works for you.
5. Encourge changing your stomabag when you notice the waffer surrounding the stoma turns white as it is a sign of possible leaking if not change.
