OT-Nashville

My friend and I are driving up to meet my husband for a conference in nashville, we are staying at the opryland hotel! We are super excited. But we need some ideas on what to do while we are there. We are thkining about touring the hall of fame and such, but what else is there fun to do? And what about night clubs? We want to go somewhere that we can see a guy sing who next year will be famous! Maybe he will sign something for me and I will get rich!
Anybody know about nashville?

First time poster but I live in Nashville so I thought I could offer some suggestions. The Bluebird Cafe (http://www.bluebirdcafe.com) is where many up and coming songwriters perform. It is a very small "hole-in-the-wall" place and definitely a great experience. A must try for anyone coming to Nashville is The Loveless Cafe. Many celebrities eat here when they are in town, and the food offers a true southern experience! Honky Tonk Row (yes this exists) is downtown and many visitors check out this area. Big Bang Bar is a dueling piano bar and certainly entertaining. The Parthenon is a replica of the one in Athens, and makes for cool pictures. I highly recommend walking across the street to Vanderbilt and taking a stroll through the beautiful campus (Go Dores)! Nashville isn't just for country music lovers; there is something enjoyable for everyone! I hope you have a great time!

We moved to the Nashville area about 2 years ago. Sadly, we have not been able to enjoy all of the excellent attractions! I guess when you live near a place, you just don't experience everything like a visitor. However, I have visited to Wild Horse Saloon in downtown, and it was really fun! They have music and dancing, and line dancing lessons. For people who are not from the South, like myself, these lessons were especially entertaining. I have also enjoyed the Big Bang dueling piano bar downtown.

Centennial Park is really lovely. We also like the Nashville Zoo and Cheekwood Botanical gardens. If you like little shops and restaurants, check out Green Hills and the area around Vanderbilt University and the hospital. That's definitely a favorite spot for celebrities!
