Hi I read on NCOT post that you are a member of the ileostomy association ( Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire section) I live in Buckinghamshire and would love to know how I could join. Can you please tell me how to go about it thanks so much Bev x

When you join online, you then select your local group. Membership is ca £15, i think not much. It's good and the quarterly journal comes with a lot of free samples. I recently also joined the local committee and we are organising a stoma open day in Reading on 2nd November and a Christmas lunch on Sunday 8th December in watlington. Put the dates in your diary, it's a chance to meet other ostomist and browse new products. If you need further info please let me know.

I also live in Bucks and as far as I can remember from previous posts, so does NCOT. Perhaps we should set up our own mini group!

Hey, I live in Bucks! I live in a bit of a weird place, which is on the border of 3 different counties. Nobody seems to know whether it's in Bucks or Bedfordshire; depends on which town is used in the address. I did actually join IA a few months ago, and it must have been the Berks and Bucks local group that I selected when I joined. Just checked: it is. I should really make contact with them.

Yeah, we should set up a minigroup. I'd go. Guys, where have you all gone...? >_>

That was one of the reasons I joined the local ia committee, there is not much going on around here.it was then only 2 guys running the local section, but they are also involved at the national level, e.g. Editor of the iA journal. If anyone fancied, we could meet up on he weekend?

As I live in wantage, ox, I will travel to bucks. Where would be a good place to meet? Saturday (aside from next weekend: bday party for my 6 yr old) or weekday evenings would probably work best for me...

apart from mon,tues,thurs,fri daytime as I work. Any other time is fine so ill leave it up to you guys to decide x

Nice to see a few new replies - genuinely wondered if my reply had scared everyone away there :p

Only weekend evening I can't make is Wednesday because I usually have to give my mum a lift home from babysitting (and most times I go with her anyway). But apart from that, any other time is usually okay. Weekends I'm usually doing least of all.

What about where in Bucks...? <_<
