Stoma Change

Hi everyone, it's been a long time since I have posted but something weird happened this weekend.  I have had my stoma for over 3 years and it's always been the same shape and size (for the most part).  yesterday for the first time ever it got very swollen...it's a bit longer but definitely fatter and more rounded. It was the jewish holidays on Saturday and I had to fast for 24 hours. Do you think this could have upset my stoma????  is this normal or should I be going to see my surgeon?  I thought I'd give it another day but interested to know if anyone else has had this problem.

it happens to me a lot, but as oppose to you, mine gets swollen after i eat too much lol, esp if the food was really salty. and it's really odd, cuz for me its exactly the opposite - after fasting my stoma shrinks significantly. im from israel, but i didn't fast, cuz i just had surgery to make my loop ileo a perm one. have been having a stoma for 3 yrs too. anyway, i think stomas go thru all kinds of physiological situations, so i hope it's nothing to be concerned about. but if it really comes out, like 10-30 cm longer, that's a prolapse and needs to be fixed by surgery.
