natura plus pouch - where to go?

What is it that you don't like about the Convatec pouch? I have used both of these pouches and have had trouble deciding which one I like better....they both have pros and cons for me. I love the way the Convatec Natura plus folds up and under at the bottom to tuck away the end. But, the filter on those bags don't work at all and they are VERY hard to snap onto the wafer. I use the tapeless Durahesive cut to fit, not the moldable. I wish the Durahesive came in pre cut, but that's another issue.

As for the Hollister new image bags....I like that the filter seems to work more often, and that they aren't nearly as crinkly and noisy as the Convatec bags. They are also much easier to get onto the wafer....and I do like how thin the Holister wafer is. It's so hard to find one perfect system!

My sentiments exactly..also, a little story to tell: I have gotten "lazy" at home with emptying the bag a few times....with Hollister, I've woken up in the morning, when the filters weren't working, and I had not emptied before sleeping, so the bag was taught, to say the least...but, I managed to gingerly walk to the bathroom and gingerly unvelcro the tail and empty..no problems...

However, when the same situation arose with the Convatec bag, i woke up and the bag was as tight as could be..i went to the bathroom, and just as I had gotten my underwear down off the bag I watched in sheer horror, and some slight amusement, as the velcro tape unzipped itself, unrolled, and splat, stuff all over the bathroom floor. Suffice to say, I don't get lazy when wearing Convatec...I still DO get lazy wearing Hollister pouches. They haven't failed yet in that respect.

Polish DAn - I will try the soap/water coating and see how easier it makes getting the natura pouch on the moldable wafer...i believe i hurt myself a little now when trying to get the pouch and wafer to seal...

Hmm, you guys / gals are using filtered bags? And the filters actually work a bit? i use Hollister new image stuff (have been too lazy to exoeriment) but I thought fitered bags are comoletely useless for ileos- no? i too have done the balloon bag morning walk occasionally lol- and I agree that with Hollister there is zero fear if the velcro undoing- had no idea that was issue for some eg Convatec. I do enjoy being lazy.

If I could take all the aspects that I liked from the different pouches/flanges I've tried and build my own I would!!! I really love the Coloplast pouches so easy to empty and clean and they tuck up under to hide the end. But I have trouble sometimes getting the flanges to stick as well as other brands. Became allergic to the Convatec glues so I can't use their products at all anymore and I really dislike most of the Hollister stuff. Really like the flanges on the Salts one piece bags I've tried but I find it harder to keep the ends clean however I LOVE LOVE LOVE the viewing window on the pouch. That way I don't have to see my poo if I don't want to but if I feel the need to check on Opal I can no problem! I also don't really like using a clip anymore, too many times of dropping it in or around the toilet... I've also given up the hope that there will ever be a bag for ileo's that actually has a useful filter. Too bad I wasn't smart enough to figure out how to build my own system :P
