Intense Pain, Don't Know What to Do

I had a total colectomy a few months ago, and have an ileostomy.

I've been having off-and-on problems with pain in my torso for the past several days. It's in my abdomen but goes all the way up to my chest, and it hurts when I take a deep breath (blowing my nose is especially difficult). Last night and this morning were the worst, and it's starting to scare me. I'm scheduled for a CT scan, but that's not until next Wednesday. In the meantime, if anyone can help me figure out what it might be, that would be great.

Initially, I thought maybe there was a blockage, but it's been going on for a while, and I've had enough output since then that I'm hoping nothing is stuck. Unless maybe there's something stuck that the other stuff is slowly working its way around it.

I'm actually thinking I've just eaten too much and, because my output is slow, am backed up because there's less "storage space" now. I had been on TPN for six months but stopped three weeks ago. I may be eating too much in an attempt to stop weight loss.

If you are in that much pain and you are scared, please go to the ER. Better safe than sorry.

Update: Woke up Saturday morning barely able to breathe because my chest felt so tight. I had no option but the ER. It took them all of five minutes to diagnose me with pneumonia. So now I'm in the hospital overnight, waiting to undergo some more tests and talk with my gastroenterologist in the morning.

I'm still in pain, but it's amazing how much less it hurts knowing that it's a treatable condition. When I first got up and realized my condition was getting worse and was obviously something I've not experienced, I was really scared. I've been dealing with health problems for a while (including a liver that needs replacing and a recent cancer scare, which is why my colon was removed), but there have been only a few times when I felt this scared and hopeless. I was half-expecting to go to the hospital only to find out they don't know what's wrong with me. So that's one good thing at least.

Or maybe I'm just so used to having to find the silver lining I'm not even aware of it.

Just got home from the hospital. I'm not 100 percent better, but I'm getting there, and most of my symptoms are gone. Still some chest pain (hurts to cough or blow my nose), but it's a lot less than it was yesterday.
