adhesion reobstruction rosemary

I never want to see another NG tube for as long as I live. After my emergency surgery I had one for 6 days when I was in ICU just sucking out loads and loads of bile from my stomach while I waited for my bowels to wake up again. I had no nutrients except IV food for about 10 days. Of course like an idiot I sat and watched food network all day long. I know I was ready to give up many times during my two week stay after my two surgeries. I still have a bit of depression on and off but I'm slowly fighting through it.

I begged for my tube to be taken out but the truth of the matter is, that tube is more helpful than the alternative if they had taken it out before it's time. I would of been vomiting bile non stop and been miserable. The worst part for me was I had an acid reflux burn on the left side of my throat before surgery and that tube just rubbed and rubbed against it the entire time.

It is way too long out from surgery to be post op ileus as surgery was. Sept 4th. And the projectile like quality was lkike an sbo from adhesions like I had from the gyn surgery that put me into stoma land I n first place. When they out the ng tube in 2 liters of bile came out oct 5th in the er. Today the 11th mgh is trying clamoed trials. As in to see if I can stand no suction foir 4 hour intervals. They think that it is a twist ariund and adhesion and are waiting for it to untwist but IDK. On tpn and fluids with picc line but not poeeing and my high output ileostomy is not outputting much at all. This is not a good situ. The doc says I can have no more surgery. I agree but what to do. I so shoulda stayed with the stenosed stoma where I could drink only boost vhc and survive as ling as I could but it mae sense to try for a stoma where I could eat food. The stoma itself is a work of art! Just way too much scar tissue behind it! RJ
