has anyone tried other companies wafers besides coloplast's hollister's and convatec's? is there a wafer out there that is stickier, with much more glue, than those companies wafers?

it's just that i'm so frustrated ever since coloplast changed their skin prep. the old one used to make my wafer stick so perfectly and now the new one, not only it doesn't do the job, it also make my skin burn.

any other skin prep is just the same. cavillon is too expensive.

maybe some companies have more gluee wafers? has anyone tried sensura mio?

Have you tried the benzoin tincture swabs that I have posted about numerous times??? It leaves a sticky skin surface.

i can't buy them. it's not in Israel. cavillon in israel is sold only as lollipops and exaggerately expensive. do you know whether all wafers of all companies have the same level of stickiness, or are there some wafers that have more glue on them? wish they made the wafers more glueee.

Have you tried something on top of the wafer? Probably they don't sell sure seals in Israel, but maybe tegaderm? I wear coloplast, but wouldn't wear them without something else holding them down.

My sense from trying other wafers was that the convatec durahesives were the stickiest that I tried.... they were sometimes hard to get off. Do you use an extended wear wafer? I switched to the coloplast xpro instead of the sensura, and it sticks better.

i do use sureseals now and they are great. but i was wondering if there are stickier wafers, to avoid needing sureseals, cuz they are also expensive. right now i have no choice and i have to use sure seals, otherwise i'll have to change every other day.

i will call to find out if the branch here of convatec has the durahesive. we only have those 3 companies here - coloplast, hollister and convatec and each company brings only some of the products. the basics, i guess. what do you mean "an extended wear wafer"? i use coloplast sensura. i'll ask about coloplast xpro. thanks blue.

I switched to the coloplast pro as well because of my leaky loop!!!!! They do seem to stand up better and I do notice them to be a little stickier when removing but I do use Friars tincture as well.

I really hope you find something that helps.

There's an extra adhesive in the xpro -- designed for looser output.

Is "Friar's balsam compound benzoin tincture" made by Rogier in Canada available in Israel? It was available in the US until the company stopped shipping to the US about a year ago. I cannot find out why. I do have a about a year supply. It is easier to use because it is in a bottle and applied with a q-tip. wwww.rogier.com phone 800 470 6886

Have you tried a change without using the skin prep or remover? Where exactly does the wafer fail? If it's by the stoma itself, you might do better with an extended wear wafer (designed to not break down as quickly).

I have recently started using Compound Benzoin Tincture (thanks Dan!) but I had stopped using all skin prep and adhesive remover years before trying that and didn't experience a shortened wear time...the CBT has extended it which was a pleasant surprise!

I have been fortunate that an extended wear wafer w/convexity has worked with my ileo. It did take me a while to get the hang of my permanent ileo (the 8 year temp loop was much easier to figure out...go figure!) so don't get discouraged. Don't you have a sister in the states that could get you samples and forward them to you? It might not be perfect, but it would give you a bigger picture of what is out there.
