Polish Dan has posted great information about Friars. I have tried the Eakins, the brava stuff and the only thing they do for me is irritate my skin.
Now, I remove my old wafer, hop in the shower, wipe gently with a cloth with only water while in the shower, get out, dry off with a hair dryer. Then because I have a little redness right now I use the cavilon wipe just around the stoma, then I use a qtip and liberally apply the friars (I am in canada where it's easy to get in bottles so I order 6 bottles at a time but a bottle lasts a long time). Dry that with a hair dryer, slap on my wafer, pouch and then I heat it all up again with the hair dryer and hold my hand over pressing gently. That's it, no pastes, powders, or other potions. Polish Dan walked me through this on this forum and via email and was a life saver.
My father in law just had surgery and unexpectedly ended up with an ileostomy. The first thing I did was order him some Friars and sent them this website address.
Sore skin sucks. I hope you find something that works for you.
