I couldn't find any percentages to make sure it is the right one, but the list of ingredients and Alcohol content of 77% is about right.

Both Amazon and Ebay have the HUMCO brand, but there is no list of ingredients on either site. Only 77% Alcohol listed on the front. They also have a Geritrex 1 oz. in a different bottle with 77% Alcohol on the front

Friar's ingredients are: Benzoin 10g, aloe 2g, storax 8g, tolu balsam 4g

This stuff seems virtually unobtainable in the UK, apart from on eBay and with an insane markup for postage. Looked up Friar's Balsam as well, and that just seems to be sold as an inhalant for coughs and colds - not the same thing at all.

I did really want to try this too. But £30 for a titchy 1oz bottle... :/

Oh is about MYR100 without postage fee for a small bottle of benzoin tincture on amazon! I can eat for two weeks with that money! currently ask my colleague to search in UAE if it is available there at a cheaper price.

I just spoke with Edward at drugsdepot. The pictures did not match and he changed it while we spoke!! They have Humco and he is ordering Geritrex to compare composition and price. He said he will call me tomorrow with information. He said they should be able to ship to UK and Malaysia.

Let's hope it is the same formula as Rougier's, so we can get T of B Compound here  :-)

I do like the PDI swabs pretty well, though.

When I has my stoma, I used the swabs from Amazon. They were in a whit box w purple writing, about $16 for 50 swabs. I used Dan's check: does it come off w water, or do you need alcohol? Had to use alcohol for sure. Worked great for me, easy and cheap to get.

Hmm.. I managed to get access to purchase 3M cavilon spray from one of the local pharmacist. Does the cavilon spray works exactly like BT?

I have the swabs but find it hard to get close to my stoma. Q-tip works better for me.

Cavilon is a barrier spray/wipe and the ingredients are completely different.  Excellent product, though.  Nexcare Liquid Bandage is the exact same formula as Cavilon and cheaper.  Both are manufactured by 3M.

I am not sure what is the content of Cavilon spray, but there are quite a number of ostomy patients recommend me to use it. It's only MYR25 in Malaysia according to my pharmacist, which is about USD8 per bottle.

Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film is an alcohol-free liquid barrier film that dries quickly to form a breathable, transparent coating on the skin. It is designed to protect intact, damaged or 'at-risk' skin from urine, faeces, other body fluids, adhesive trauma and friction. It comes in a variety of easy to apply formats: 1ml foam applicator, 3ml foam applicator, 28ml pump spray and a stoma wipe. It lasts for up to 72 hours1, and will not sting when applied to broken skin

Hexamethyldisiloxane, Isooctane, Acrylate Terpolymer, Polyphenylmethylsiloxane

They do ship overseas. you can get the shipping fee online, just don't complete the order. I think it will be expensive.

Thanks for checking on this, Dan.    I hope it works as well as the Friar's and remains available to us.   I would order some, but still have a full bottle of Friar's from an Ebay purchase a while back [no longer available through a Canadian Ebay seller].

I just went to look and was surprised that it's advertised for canker sores..... I have trouble w/them sometimes, didn't realize you could use that in your mouth....

Blueglass, I was kind of surprised to read that about canker sores as well.   I did know that it could be inhaled, though.

It really does keep the area around my stoma under the Eakin very clear.   I am having other issues with either an allergy to the tape on my favorite Convatec Moldable and/or Sure Seals .   Both of which I really like and would hate to have to switch.  I waver back and forth between an allergy or a fungal thing.   The T of B did not seem to help beyond the Eakin confused

I'm a huge Cavilon fan. Other than this, plus a barrier ring, I don't use any other products. I usually get an extra ~2 days or so out of my wafer, rarely have any issues, and my skin looks great.

Got my bottle of Geratrix benzoin tincture today. Hadn't thought about it being waterproof like Friar's. Tested it and it is waterproof. Does not wash off. Looks and smells the same. Will try it in a few days.

So far feels good. It is recommended for cancer sores and cold sores. My wife is trying it n her cold sore.

Wife's cold sore felt good. Then last evening after a glass of wine it started to hurt. Alcohol in wine!? Re-apply Tincture and it felt better.
