I just had my surgery today to have my loop jejunostomy put back in. My surgeon was very happy! She bought it would take 3.5-5 hours because of how messed up a case I am. It took a little over an hour! There was also double the chance she would need to open me but ut was all laparoscopic. I've done a couple of floor laps and pain us pretty good!

The only negative is I have monster sutures. I'll just add the scars to my collection ;)

Congrats! Sounds like this is one of the least complicated surgeries you have had. So glad to hear it :)

Don't worry about the scars...I got plenty myself and luckily my hubby doesn't seem to mind. Hopefully this will be the last one for you!

So it seems I've finally stopped throwing up. One of my worse fears was to get an NG tube. Apparently I pulled out five of them when I was "altered" this summer. I think it was anesthesia after effects and drainage from my sinus infection that were making me sick.

Walking has been going great. I've done 3x5 laps around the C-R ward. My stoma already had a leak, haha.

I starving! I know that's a good sign. I'm so sick of a clear liquid diet. I'm hoping tomorrow to get advanced to all liquid (so I can have some substantial soup of some sort and not just broth).

I absolutely hated my NG tube...thank god at least they put it in while I was under during my second surgery. I had mine for six days and it was the most irritating thing ever. It kept irritating my throat badly. Seeing the amount of bile it was sucking out of my stomach tho was much better than throwing it up without having the tube. I came close a couple times to throwing up while having the tube. That wouldn't of been fun

Wow. My parents said that storage container filled up in about three minutes one time I had that in. Definitely not a good thing. I do remember getting one put in (that's one of my two procedure memories from a three week time period).

I had a feeding tube that was smaller but similar. That irritated the crap out of me when I had it. I can't imagine the NG tube as it is bigger.

they fed me with the IV nutrition, TPN I believe was the name of it. It was a MASSIVE IV bag!

I've been on TPN now for six months. 3L bag! 3.5L when it's "lipid bag" night.

This other feeding with the tube down the throat was also a liquid feeding, but it went into the stomach whereas TPN goes into the blood stream.
