Sensi-Care Sting Free Releaser Spray

Okay, so I just found the greatest product - Sensi-Care Sting Free Releaser Spray, by Convatec. It comes in an aerosol can, and you spray it as you're removing your appliance, tape, or anything with adhesive. The adhesive slides right off like it's not even sticky. The spray leaves no residue and dries in seconds. Usually I take off my appliance and all my skin is red for a few minutes. Not when I used the Releaser Spray!

Anyway, just wanted to share. Has anyone else tried this? I had to pay $15 for it from OstomySecrets.com. I haven't found it on any of the medical supply sites so I can't get insurance to cover it. Well worth it though.

I agree! That product is amazing! Byram Healthcare carries it and my insurance covers a portion. If you can't find it at your supplier, ask. It is a fairly new product and may not be listed in some of their catalogs yet. That was the case with Byram.

Coloplast makes an almost identical product called Brava Adhesive Remover Spray- sting free. If your supplier doesn't carry the Sensi-care (a Convatec product) they may carry the Brava. Both are silicone-based and leave no residue.

If you need to change your wafer often (and even if you don't) these adhesive removers are really great! They come in wipes too that are wonderful for getting tape residue off your belly (the aerosol spray works better for peeling wafers off though.)

Me too, me too !!!    It is awesome.  I use Edgepark and at last check they did not have it, so I have also been getting it from the Ostomy Secrets website.

They do run 25% off promotions quite often and sometimes I have even gotten the discount coupled with free shipping.   They have a Facebook page which most times announces the promotions.

I am going to check and see if Edgepark carries the Brava brand.

I have a lot of the wipes version of this product. I was given a box from the hospital when I left. And also took a handful from the drawer of my room before I left... lol.

I love it! I just start to peel and keep the wipe pressed against it as I pull it off. Really really awesome product! And then there is enough moisture left to wipe ANY remaining adhesive off my tummy.

Funnily enough, I was speaking with ConvaTec yesterday about these ahdesive removers and they are sending me samples. Straight after I spoke with them, I had to call my supplier for my usual order and got them to add the convatec spray and wipes to the box.

As I'm in the UK I don't pay to get this stuff, so I thought I may as well get a months worth.

I have a feeling this may solve a big problem for me.

I bought the wipes too. I was a little disappointed with them because they weren't super great at removing Eakin ring residue, but at least they didn't sting. I just got off the phone with Edge Park. They do not currently carry this product, but the rep said mine was not the first call asking about it. She's putting through a "special order request" for me. She said it could be a lengthy process and may get denied, but it can't hurt to try. At least it tells their buyer that someone is very interested in a certain product. (I asked, and they don't carry the Coloplast Brava version of it either.)

I was hoping that ConvaTec spray and wipes might get off ConvaTec paste, or is that too logical thinking ?

The Sensi-Care sprays are very good, and for those who don't know, it's the same as the Niltac spray adhesive - ConvaTec is changing over the name.

Edge Park called me last night and said they denied my special order request. I'll see how long the can lasts and whether it's worth the hassle of adding another medical supply company (Byram) so insurance will pay for the spray.
