I use Hollister Universal Remover Wipes (Product code 7760). There are 50 wipes in a box and once converted from my currency equals about
US $11.30 per box. As we probably import from the US I am sure it will even be cheaper for you. The wipes also loosen the wafer and removes all old adhesive. I usually use two wipes to remove the adhesive but you could probably get away with using 1 wipe, depending on the amount of build up of adhesive.
This works out to quite a reasonable price and 1 box should last a some time. One box lasts me more than 6 months, but then I only change every week and use 2 wipes so it may last even longer if you only use 1 wipe!
I have just read the package insert and there is alcohol in the wipes, so not sure if you will also be allergic to this? After I have used the wipe to remove the residue, I wash well with soap and warm water, so this removes any trace of the alcohol. (Unlike the paste which remains on the skin causing your allergy).
5 days between changes is great. I find if I remove the wafer too early, especially with the adapt rings which stick like super glue, and if I don't use the wipes, I also get sores around the edges. I use Hollister Stoma Powder (Product code 7906) on any red areas or
open wounds. It acts like a barrier but also heals wounds at the same time - brilliant product!! I now sprinkle it prophylactically around the stoma and touch wood, since I have been using it I haven't developed any
open areas yet! This product really helped to extend the days between my wafer changes. It costs US $ 7.68 (when converted from my currency) for one bottle which usually lasts about
6 months.
