I've just passed my 3 month surgery anniversary after having a total colectomy with end ileostomy for UC. Recently started getting ab pain/cramps around the belly button on opposite side from stoma, with belly being sore to touch and walking/coughing also painful and occasional bloating.
The cramps were pretty severe at the weekend but have reduced to a fairly constant ache now. It doesn't seem to be related to eating and stoma output seems OK.
Had a few complications post surgery (who doesn't?!) but I only ever had stomach pain after eating before and that passed after about 6 weeks. I know I can't really expect an instant recovery but it does feel strange to have been fine and suddenly develop these pains. Any thoughts greatly appreciated!
Would also be really interested to hear what stage everyone else was at after 3 months, as that's the time I frequently hear people should have recovered by...
