Ibuprofen and root canal

I had a root canal last week and the doc told me to alternate advil and tylenol for the pain which i did for two days. I then ended up with what felt like it was going to be a blockage (which I've had once before). Stopped taking painkillers and two days later after much sleeping and diaharea and stomach upset, it has passed and I feel great this morning. Is it possible the ibuprofen caused the problem? thanks!

That is a good question. Maybe someone will know the answer. When you had blockage, what were the symptoms?

I doubt it. Ibuprofen is an anti inflammatory. Most likely this was coincidental.

Not sure in your case, but my colorectal surgeon is blaming the cause of my UC flare inside my anus (four years post op) on my use of Ibuprofen for back pain. Trying to get it under control with Canasa and Cort suppositories. So far, I think the suppositories are doing the trick...but no more Ibuprofen for me!
