Ileostomy Reversal Surgery Scheduled.

I've had a temporary Ileostomy since 10/20/2014. I had Crohns. It seems to FINALLY be in REMISSION NOW! Thank THE GOOD & GRACIOUS LORD!!! I had the disease for 6 years & the last 2 years were a NIGHTMARE!
I had about 80% of my colon removed, being a Subtotal Colectomy. It has been 156 days now & my Crohns has disappeared. It never migrated to my stomach or small intestine, & I must realize that that's a miracle!
I will have Reversal Surgery the 1st or 2nd week of April 2015 at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton, Texas. My Wound Nurse has cautioned me that I will have 10-15 loose & UNCONTROLLED Bowel Movements daily! My surgeon tells me that I will have maybe 3 or 4.
I have friend that had almost ALL of his colon removed & he does very well. I NEED SOME FEEDBACK PLEASE! I'm very fatigued of "BETTY THE BAG" & "OSCAR THE STOMA!" I am retired at 62 years old, & that'll help, I'm SURE!

Is it really just the times per day you go that you need the feedback on? I'm not sure if it would differ between us as I had colitis and now and a jpouch. In the beginning right after surgery I went maybe 10-15 a day and only some I couldn't control. I heard accidents could happen but I had pretty good control even in the beginning except when I was sleeping. Now I can control them all (except for the occasional has that ends up being more than gas lol), and I am down to maybe only about 5-8 a day depending. Also some people need to go a few times at night, I only go once a night if that, usually I can sleep through the night no problem except for some pain cause I am only about 5 weeks out so far. Like I said it may be different for you though since you started with Crohn's and I started with colitis. Best of luck and let me know if you have other questions!

Thanks Amanda! I really appreciate it! I just want to get rid of this bag, as my surgeon (So Far) has stated that I would be just fine! I do know that at first, it will be a bit tough, but I believe that things will improve.
I am retired now & will be 63 on March 31, 2015. Therefore I will be at home most of the time. I do not mind investing in Depends Men's Underwear. I do not think my life will change much, but actually may improve.
Presently, I must plan my trips to the store & further according to this bag, & must always have my supply bag with me on longer trips. I really do not anticipate too much difficulty, just an adjustment.

I just might have additional questions after I see my surgeon, most likely next week, & after the surgery!
