Bath and swimming

I was wondering if any one had a solution for bathing or swimming with a ostomy pouch

Sure seals are awesome. I swim five times a week and also take a lot of baths. If you search there have been a lot of posts on this topic with other details.

I have swam and I shower all the time and I've never had the bag leak. Where does it leak from? The wafer or the bottom? I went in a hottub the other day with a hollister click on mini pouch. All was fine and secure when I got out. Afterwards, I clicked on a standard pouch and went the next few days no problem.

Whenever I take a bath, I never fill the tub all the way. I generally only let the very bottom of the wafer sit in the water. Ensuring a proper fit is the first step towards avoiding leaks. If your stoma is new, it'll be changing shape almost as quickly as toddlers grow out of their shoes. You should always stay on top of your stoma's size and adjust accordingly. Things like barrier seals and the like can keep the leaks away if done correctly. You should also dry the wafer as best you can when you get out. Mine is a flexible bandage-esque backing which dries well with some vigorous towel rubbing and then I fold some TP and tuck it against the underside of the bag next to the wafer to absorb the rest of the moisture. Some folks even blowdry their wafers dry, but I've never tried that.

Usually I'll sit on the toilet with a towel draped over my lap and under the bag; that absorbs a bit of the moisture. I also swipe some TP under the mesh on my bag to further dry it.

I've never showered right after a new change. I tend to change after the shower if I need to so I feel doubly fresh and clean.
