Short with a 12 inch bag help

I'm not too tall 5 ' 3" but these 12 inch bags from Contevec are killing me. How do you wear yours so you can walk and wear clothes besides elastic waist pants?

You could order smaller bags. I typically wear my underwear on the outside of the bag and fold up the last couple of inches of the bag so it doesn't hang as low. I've found that to be helpful.

I hate 12 inch bags and only use the 10 inchers. I haven't done it with this bag yet, but if I wanted it to not show as much, I'd curl the tail under the leg of my underwear (I wear the bag over instead of under) when I had my previous ostomy. I found this was a more comfortable way of wearing it, especially if I had shorts or a skirt on.

I wear high underwear and tuck it in. I use hollister and they literally do not make a medium size bag with an integrated closure (don't worry, i complain to them every time they call me and hopefully they start manufacturing the 9in with the roll closure if enough people ask for it!). They have 9in with a clip but I can't get involved with clips. There is a 7in but it's TINY.

As far as convatec goes, I think their standard pouch is much more manageable because it folds up. The problem with convatec is that the wafer is HUGE. I think maybe the precut is smaller but the cut to fit is literally 4+ inches square.

Coloplast makes something called a midi, which I have been dying to get my hands on - but haven't because i hate their wafers, I think it's 9inches and it has their lovely velcro closure. Problem with coloplast for me is the wafer, I don't like the stiffness and i don't like the way the 2 piece clips together. Plus, I love the mio and it doesn't come in convex.

I've been sucking it up and just tucking the hollister into my underwear.

Today I am wearing an ostomy wrap. These are good too. It's open bottom and you wear it over your underwear, it wraps around and velcros above the pouch.

I use Dansac Novalife Midi bags - they're only 6-7 inches I think, but perfect for me. I'm not short 5' 5" but my stoma is quite low, but these bags are perfect size; if I just angle slightly to the left when I'm putting it on, it sits directly over my pubic bone area and doesn't touch my leg at all, so I don't have to tuck it up or into anything. I wear high underwear also, so they whole bag is held by that, is comfortable & invisible.

I did try Convatec samples, and thought they were huge!! They were hanging onto my leg which was so uncomfortable, especially if it got anyway full. So i just went straight back to the Dansac ones.

I've been wearing mine sideways for nine years. Works fine for me.
