Enjoy golf. Make sure you do your research in trying to find a surgeon. Like I mentioned, I was looking for 1) experience 2)where they went to school/any extra training. Even though my surgeon left the anus, I am sure he had his reasons. I found out afterwards, from daughter and hubby, that the surgeon phoned them from the operating room and said something about
bleeding. So maybe, he wanted to get through the operation ASAP. I know I was in ICU for awhile following the operation. I wasn't brought into a room until late afternoon and my operation was at 7am and took an hour and a half. I didn't realize the anus was still there until three weeks after the operation when I developed a hematoma inside it. The surgeon suctioned it out in his office
. Told me I had an abscess and placed me on antibiotics for two weeks. I had to follow up and all was healed nicely. My ostomy nurse also told me if he (I had a male ostomy nurse) had to have the same operation, he would have chosen Dr. Fry to operate. That in his 30 yrs of being a wound care nurse, Dr. Fry was tops. I can tell you that my stoma works like a charm, always did, so bless him for that! Hopefully, the disease has gone into remission. I no longer feel pressure. My new colorectal surgeon told me he thought my taking too much Ibupr
open for my back fractures (thanks to prednisone) brought about
the ulcerations inside the anus. Who knows?
