Sure. I do everything after surgery. I go hiking, on long car/motorcycle rides, to events, I've flown across the country, I play sports... I am really not limited by having a jpouch. There are times when I get the urge to go when it's not ideal, like if I am out at a restaurant, but I can hold it if I want to. Usually I will just go if he urge hits. I've become way less shy about using toilets since having dealt with UC - but if it's not the right bathroom, I can totally wait until I can get somewhere else. How are you doing since takedown? I am over a year post takedown, and it's definitely gotten better for me over time. The first few months were rough, but rough, was still way less difficult than having a flare up of UC. In the beginning, I'd go for a walk around this mile loop and I'd have to stop after one lap to go to the bathroom. Now, I wouldn't stop.
I'm doing the well since the takedown just waiting till I can start lifting weights, & going to the bathroom 6 times a day. But it's been 2 months since the takedown.
