Can you smash a stoma

Every morning I wake up on my stomach and I didn’t know if I was harming the stoma in any way, I try to sleep on my back and sides but I guess I roll too much in my sleep. I tried putting pillows beside me to keep me from turning as well and I somehow managed to throw them both to the foot of the bed while I was sleeping.

Hi Mak, I was a stomach sleeper before surgery so I was worried first being able to sleep in another position and also inadvertently rolling over onto my stomach. Neither was a problem. I think I rolled onto my stomach the first few days after getting home, but quickly felt it and immediately rolled back. Guess I was really tuned in to it. I've heard others say that they can sleep on their stomach with the only problem being that their bag may leak or even blow open.

I lay on my stomach sometimes but i dont think iv ever fallen asleep that way as im still too nervous about the bag maybe bursting but i assume its quite safe to lay on your tummy as it never hurts the stoma when i do it the stomas quite squishy so i suppose it can be lent on an wont break or anything lol

Thank you guys! Yea it hasn’t felt any different so I doubt I am hurting it, definitelt hope I don’t pop the bag or something though lol that would be a crappy mess 😂
