3TC,
I am sorry to hear that this stoma is not working as well as your first....leakage wise... I know I have a colostomy...but maybe something here will help. (My skin separated from my stoma so I had an open wound around the stoma that was challenging...and leakage everywhere)
1. I called the ostomy supply companies, they sent me samples of a rectangle wafer. It fit over the recessed area and made a "flat" surface to work with. I used that for my base.
2. Fill in every spot between your final appliance wafer and stoma with either a paste...or they make these almost square thin pieces of fill about half the width of a carpenters pencil but twice as thick...they worked better for me.
3. Use the extra tape pieces around your wafer. Coloplast makes them. They helped tighten everything down and gave me those extra seconds to get to the bathroom.
4. When my output is very thin I used the little packets you put in the wafer to help gel thing up. They helped a little.
5. I also used the convex wafers...and the moldable convatec wafers worked for me....
6. Plan on changing your wafer frequently. Use a hairdryer to ensure maximum stickage...and use really good adhesive remover....
I can get you supply numbers if you need them...but if you call coloplast they will know what you are describing and they may have even more suggestions.
These aren't all fool proof but they may gain you alittle more time.
