Not a dumb question at all. How long are you there for? I went on a trip and I didn't want to change the setup so I ended up changing it right before I left, and I didn't change the whole time. My trip was only 3 nights though, so that's easier. I always kept a roll of paper towels with my ostomy supplies, but I wouldn't want to carry one in a suitcase, so I'd probably peel off 10 or so and sit them flat. Better to have too many than not enough, but I am sure you can get napkins or paper towels on the trip if you need. I also wouldn't eat too much before a change in order to make sure there wasn't a lot of output, and I'd do it first thing in the morning when things were somewhat empty. With the loop, it's harder because mine never stopped and I only got 1-2 days wear time between changes.

they also sell those wet wipes for ostomy. Look it up, they are pretty convenient.

I use the 4x4 squares of the soft absorbant gauze. I was using paper towels but it was a pain to keep a roll on the bathroom. Plus the gauze feels better on my skin.
