Hello everyone,
My daughter had a colectomy 2 months ago. She was diagnosed with UC and medications failed in controlling her symptoms so her doctor decided to to perform a surgery. Her first Calprotecton after the surgery was 289. Before the surgery it was 2000. It has improved greatly, but still not in the normal range. I am afraid that she has crohns. Please share your experience with me. I am so nervous.

I haven't had one since I had surgery. I'd be interested to know what the # is... Try not to worry. If she's living well, and not experiencing symptoms, perhaps it's not something to worry about.

Did they do pathology on the colon after surgery?
They always do. I would request the report and take a look.

Thank you so much for responding. They did the pathology and said it’s most likely UC. But she had back wash ileitis. They think it’s caused by the colitis.
