Do I have a problem

Hi, I am new. I just signed up. I had a permanent transverse colostomy Feb 28th. Everything has seemed to go well until yesterday I noticed that my stoma had developed another bulge. The bulge seems like it may have fluid in it. No pain and no other trouble, but I am so new to this I don't know where to turn. The bulge is about the size of a small grape. I have been reading the posts and wish to thank all for the tip with the Hydrogen Peroxide. I have tried it, but it seems like it is worth a shot. I am 82 and my colon was completely stopped up from divertiular disease. awful pain and poor quality of life. Now as everyone seems to say I hav started to live again.

Hi Arundineria, Welcome to the board. I am fairly new to this board also. I do not have any information to help you, but I am sure someone will come along and be able to give you some advice. I also would encourage you to call your doctor or your ostomy nurse if you have one available to you. I myself am now 58 and at 55 years was diagnosed with rectal cancer. So far all is well with me, but I have a permanent sigmoid ostomy. You have come to a good place and again welcome. Donna

Thanks Donna. I went to my surgeon today and he told me that it is a prolapsed ostomy, but that because of the way it was done, should not protrude any more. He said nothing to worry about... I tried the Hydrogen Peroxide today and I don't think much of it. Sorry to all who think it is great.
