Any ideas how how long can a wafer be safely left on? I have had one on since the 12th and it still looks excellent (showers included) I don't need skin problems because I'm cheap!!!

I was told I could leave the bag on a week and tried to get away with that. But I had alot of leaks after 4-6 days. Finally I read on here that 3-4 days is more a reality. Now I change every 4 days and have been alot better off. As always everyone is different so I continue to experiment and do what is best for me. I do appreciate all the tips and info on this site.

I had an ET nurse tell me that as long as my skin was doing well then just keep it on as long as possible. These things are expensive!!

I change mine 3 times a week. For me, the added security is worth the extra expense.

I use the Coloplast Assura Extended Wear Wafers, and they stay on for a week with no problems.
I feel bad for those of you who have to pay a lot of money for these supplies. Do you have health insurance? The reason why I ask is because my insurance company covers the cost of my supplies.
At first, I ordered from a supplier that I found online, and my insurance company only covered a portion of the cost. I was surprised, because I had been told that they would cover supplies at 100%. So I called them to find out what happened, and they told me that they have a contract with only ONE supplier to offer them for free. So, I started ordering from that company, and now all of my supplies are free.
It's something worth looking into...

I only have to pay 15% of the cost,so it isn't bad, but I still want to use as few as possible. Although I belive I learned the hard way that I shouldn't leave them on once they start itching a little. Saturday it started itching a little, but it wasnt' coming loose or anything, so I didn't really think too much about
it, but by Sunday it was almost off and when I did take it off my skin is all red and icky. First time that has happened, I think I will change it next time as soon as it itches, lol.
