Help me Celebrate One Year Colon-free!

Tomorrow is my one year anniversary of being colon-free! yeah

Do you have any ideas on how I should celebrate? I'm open to all suggestions!

Happy Anniversary to you! Hmm...I'd celebrate by eating something that you weren't able to eat before your surgery.

I've decided that I'm going to celebrate by spending Saturday at a water park. cool That's something that I wasn't able to do before surgery, because I couldn't stray too far from a bathroom.

Then, I'm going to eat dinner at an Italian restaurant, which was also a no-no, and catch a movie with my hubby! I've heard that the Bourne Ultimatum was good. :-)

I will not, however, be eating popcorn at the movies, because that would be something that I shouldn't do! (Thanks, Arundinaria, for keeping me on the straight and narrow!) tongue

Sounds like a great day! Must still be warm where you are if you're going to a water park. It's still warm here...in the 80's. Those parks always look like so much fun. I've never gone because I don't know how to swim. The funny thing is that when we lived in Coronado (island area in San Diego) I went to the beach every day.

My boys saw Bourne Ultimatum and said it was a great movie. What restaurant are you going to? I love Johnny Carinos! Yummy!

Thanks ~ I live in Southwest Florida, so we're still warm in the low 90's here. I think we'll go to Carabbas... yum! Thanks also for the movie reviews. Everyone I've talked to has said that it is the best in the series, so I'm looking forward to seeing it! Hope you all have a good weekend, too!

Did you know that Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready is a fellow Crohnie? He hasn't had surgery, though, so he's not a Rock Star with a stoma like we are!!

Every year around my anniversary, we try to go out to celebrate my new life, you might say. My pick of restaurants. It's been a lot of years, but we still do it. It was a huge turning point in my life, as was in yours. Any other celebratees out there?

I can't eat solid food, well I can, but I'm gonna be in pain. My surgery is 10/22. After my sitz marker test two weeks ago my colon has been in constant pain whether I eat or not.

I've been looking a receipes. I'm so hungry.

If I was you I'd go out and have a really good meal of your favorite food.

Thanks, everyone, for the well wishes. We had a blast at the water park today! yeah The weather was perfect, and it wasn't crowded, so there were no lines. They had just opened a new slide that is four stories tall and is the longest slide in Florida. You could go doubles on an intertube, and we were going so fast and laughing the whole way down! tongue We were like little kids, going on it over and over again. Then we rested while relaxing and floating down the lazy river. The best part of all was my wafer stayed on with no problem!

Well what about the movie and dinner? What did you eat and what movie did you end up seeng? That waterslide sounds fun! Glad everything stayed in place.

WOW! Back to a "normal" life!!! Congrats to you. I am so glad you had such a blast.... I would bet that maybe this could be a beginning of an annual celebration. What do ya think?! A good reason to get out and enjoy the day being disease-free and proving what a person with an ostomy is capable of doing! You are a great role model for those "newbies" to follow.

Didn't you work as a lifeguard post-surgery? Now, that's brave and impressive!!

I made homemade pizza last night. Marinara sauce used to be a no-no before my surgery, but now I can enjoy it again. We're going to dinner and a movie tonight. I planned a whole weekend full of fun!!
