Well, we finally figured out what those little stickers are for, now here's something I don't understand...
Why does Coloplast only give us 5 blue throw away bags in a package of 10 pouches?? confused I always run out of their bags and have to use Ziploc bags instead. I like the blue bags, because you can't see what's inside. I think I'm going to buy a roll of blue doggy poop bags and use them from now on! :-)

I just buy the disposable nappy (diaper) plastic bags. You can get 100 for a couple of dollars. They're nicely scented and just the right size and easy to tie up and throw away in the trash.

My neighborhood community has a dog walking path with free doggie bags along the trail. I always grab one for the dog and three for me :o)

I just use a  ziploc baggie of some sort and drop that in a brown paper lunch bag.  Zippies hide any odor, which is usually very little if you rinse well before changing, and brown bag hides the contents.   Our trash can only gets  emptied usually once a week with only the two of us, since we do our fair share of recyling.  So the ziploc solves any odor issues. 

I like hearing everyone's "hints".  I sure have learned a lot over the past couple of months!

I used to use recycled plastic or paper bags from the store to dispose of soiled bags, but discovered that while I knew what was in that bag, no one else did. So... once in awhile someone (one of the kids or my husband) would be digging around looking for something in the trash can that they thought was accidentally thrown away - like a receipt from that store - and - surprise! So now I buy little brown bags (lunch bags) and use them and everyone knows what is inside and no one is surprised. Maybe it isn't eco friendly but it is family friendly.

Most of the time I use the disposable bags that come with my Hollister pouches for at home, but I ALWAYS bring an "Ostaway x-Bag" with me traveling. They are black ziplocks. I also pack my "in case of emergency supplies" in one of them to put in my purse in case I have an accident. Then I have my supplies (one bag, a flange and a seal ring) to fix it right up and have the bag to toss disceretly. You can find them at the addy below and they last forever.

Peggy, I still have some left after 7 months. I really do use them though. They have been left at a FEW public restrooms, hotels and at houses I have visited without being too conspicious! Plus like I said, I just store my 'kit' in them and tuck it in my purse. Sorry guys. Interesting question! Where do you guys keep your extra supplies in case you might need them?

Hmm...I never gave "disposal" much thought. I just empty mine, fold it up, wrap in toilet tissue and dispose of with the sanitary items in the ladies restroom. I've never had odor problems as I use a ton of M9 drops (should own stock in that company). Not sure why you need special bags?

As a guy, I kind of keep stashes of supplies in strategic places. I have a stash in my car, a stash at my best friend's house, at my relative's, and will keep one at work when I return. Otherwise I carry around a black canvas bag, very uncool! I would love to hear of any alternatives or suggestions.

I have supply kits everywhere! I have them in gallon sized baggies - bag, pre-cut wafer (just because it saves time), powder, paste, eakin, and some tissues for clean up. I keep this kit in my car, hubby's car, at my in-laws home, at my sister's home and in my locker at the gym. Trust me, after all of my "emergency experiences", I learned this lesson the hard way. I will never be caught driving 60mph rushing to get home with poo running down my leg, into my car seat and all of my tummy again....EWWWW. This is definitely "things that make you go YUCK!"

I used to keep extras in my car, but I live in San Diego, and found that my flanges and seals were melting into globby messes. I try to keep some in my purse, but then I need a bigger purse, it gets heavy, no good solution.  Thankfully I don't have the accidents that I used to. 

For you guys at work, what about a backpack (for your lunch and magazines, lol) or you white collar types could use a briefcase.

I always have a couple of Emergency Kits made up in case we decide to go on a day trip...  just the essentials just in case I need them:  pouch, flange, some paper towels and brown paper lunch bag stuffed in quart ziploc.  I only work about 15-20 min from home, so I don't take them to work, have them at work.   If I am going an hour or further from home, then I grab an E Kit...

I don't take any spare supplies with me unless I'm staying overnight somewhere. I've only ever had one major leak while out in public.... so far! (Major leaks are those where my clothes and everything get covered. I class minor leaks as those tiny ones where you can do temporary repair jobs by stuffing toilet paper in and around the leak which holds it until I get home again and no one's any the wiser).

I keep a stash in the trunk of my car and another in my luggage for overnights. I also use regular ziploc bags. One of the most important things for me are the alcohol wipes. I always have a pocket full not to mention more in my stashes. I should own shares in M-9 also.

in a public restroom, where the trash is emptied often, can't you all just throw the old pouch in the trash can? how many who people who are ruffling through bathroom trash cans don't expect to find something nasty? and do you care if they find it? they have it coming don't they?

That's amazing that you've only had one major leak in public in 31 years! I've had my ileo for almost 2 years and haven't had a major leak in public yet.

 

I live in Florida and don't keep a spare change of supplies in the car, because the heat would melt everything. I work only 4 miles from my house, so I've always thought that I would just run home quickly if something like that ever happened. I would need to change my clothes anyway.
