I do not have a Stoma, but I did have a TC in March 2007.  I was looking on the internet yesterday and came across photos.  I wanted to see the supplies you use. Reading your post I wanted to get a better idea of what you are talking about.  

I came upon a photo with a person having two Stomas.  One on each side of the abdomen.  In which circumstances would a person need two?

I'm sorry if my wanting to know offends any of you.

The only reason that comes to mind right off hand is if person has a Urostomy and either a Colostomy or Ileostomy... I'm sure one of our experts will chime in too. But I can think of any other reason to have 2 ostomies.

Peggy is right. For some of my greedy friends, one stoma isn't enough :)  Usually one ostomy is a urostomy and the other is either an ileostomy or a colostomy. I even know one guy who's had all three!  He started off with a colostomy, then had surgery for a urostomy then had his colostomy converted to an ileostomy later on. It's not very common but it can happen to some people.

that would be teh only reason i could think of, we have a family friend who has both, but he has spinabiphida.
