So XMas eve day i was feeling terrible. Flu like deal, fever , nausea, not good.  Not to mention the abcess on my rear that  was getting worse.  So felt like trash for Christmas. Made an appointment with my surgeon for last friday to take care of the large lump on my bum. These are WITHOUT  a doubt the MOST painful appointments i've had. Anyway, he takes care of that and also REopenS my " wound" because it was draining real  bad. So i guess based on the fact i was feeling horrible, and the extra draining and abcess, doc thinks could be bad. SO I END UP BACK IN THE HOSPITAL!!   Lovely four day, three night stay in the hospital. I feel better, except now the nurses have to come and pack my wound once a day for the next 10 days.

  I'm just venting!  devil    I'm sick of the hospital.  And now my butt hurts AGAIN.  Had to watch the Patriots go undefeated from a hospital bed.  Oh the humanity.

I'm soooo sorry to hear about the troubles you've been having, especially over Christmas. sad
I was wondering where you've been and was not expecting to hear this!! That's a real bummer.

You're right... 2008 can only get better.

Goodness, it is unlike you to vent.  I am so sorry that you have had such a tough time. At least you had something to watch from the hopsital room...(New England pulled it out despite looking like crud though the first half of the game).  I am glad that you feel comfortable enough to vent, but did you have to send Florida your cold weather?  Come on, this is just mean!  We are going to have one of our coldest nights in nearly decade and my poor dogs shake all over every time they have to go out to pee. 

 

How are you feeling today?  I am sorry your experience was so embarrassing, bend over and grab your knees...again, but was it helpful?  I am not sure whom I feel more sorry for....you - having to have your booty packed for the next 10 days, or the nurses - who have to come by and pack your booty.... nono

 

Ok, I feel worse for you...only cuz I like you better than most nurses I have met. tongue

Man, that sucks. Personally, I was hoping to see the Pats lose!! Oh yeah, and your butt situation sucks, too. HAHA. I agree with you, 2008 can only get better. 2007 was the worst year of my life. My husband and I made sure to tell 2007 not to let the door hit it in the rear on it's way out. We did NOT put it eloquently, and it felt soooo good.

So, I hope this butt stuff clears up for you. Who ever guessed a hole, or lack thereof, could be sooooo annoying?

Nah, i'm not embarrassed at all. In fact, i don't know how any of us, having what we have and have to go through can ever be embarrassed!!   Sorry about the cold.  I try and teach my kids to share so i have to show a good example.  I'm sharing with you Amey, have some cold.     tongue  

 I actually heard it's possible that there could be snow flurries near Orlando?!?!  Come on, enjoy it.

 It's funny, everytime a nurse comes over i keep wondering if she knows what she is there for.

 Maybe it's just Florida. But all the nurses, ok most of them, have been great.  I thought it was only going to be once a day, but it's now back to twice a day thanks to my surgeon.  I'll try and get it on YouTube.  Oh thats bad.

Sorry to hear about your pain in the, well you know where!! I'm so glad to hear you vent - you know, we miss you when you are not making us laugh. I sure hope you recover quickly from this round. ARe you on any antibiotics or anything?

BTW, how was the hospital food this time?

Nope, hospital food this time around wasn't that great, and i was hungry. So thats not good. Yeah, i'm on Cephalexin for a couple of weeks. And the Oxy of course, for those after the nurse visits times.
At least i don't have to leave the house for a few days. Since it's like....... 7 outside.

Hospital food is never very good, unless you have been on a liquid diet for a long time -- then, ANYTHING tastes better than broth or jello!

So, how's the nurses visits going?  Do they all know what they are in for when they visit you?  Are you getting the same nurse each time?  Are you being NICE to them, or are you giving them a hard time too?

Be thankful you don't have to go out in this nasty weather.  It is just plain frigid out!!!  I won't be going anywhere this week either, as I have caught the head cold from he**!!  I called off work for this week, cuz no one I work with wants to share my cold with me!

Yeah, they all know what they are here for. I'm sure i'm not the first one they've had to deal with. I'm very nice to all of them, probably more because they control how much pain to lay on me!! Of it stinks 'cause they keep dragging in the wet snow and sand all over my house. Ugh

I actually love this weather!! I love these really cold times with all the snow on the ground. I'm probably going to go out and walk around when my kids are home after school today.

Oh, it's just been so much fun. 2 times a day a nurse comes and repacks me. Thrilling. Today i go and see the surgeon and he decides if the nurses still have to come by. With the surgeon, his assistants, and all the nurses i'm wondering if there is anyone who hasn't seen my @ss in the last few weeks. Like i've said, i'd like just one doc appt where i don't have to drop my pants, and now it even happens at home. (sigh)
So far everything is good. I feel fine. Once the wound heals it should all be good. I hope.

I know what you mean by feeling like half the city has seen your @ss. At least if you were a Chippendale, you'd be making good money for all of this exposure, but, instead, you have to pay all of these people to take a free peek. It's just not right... sad

Oh yay. Surgeon basically said that the nurses will be seeing me for the next 2 weeks. He said the wound is looking better, but it will take some time to heal. Which as he reminded me, was exactly what he thought would happen back when he removed the rectum. Strange thing is, i always thought the drainage was coming from...excuse my lack of the langauge.....my hole. But it's draining from the hole that he made to get to the hole. Make sense? Jeeez. But i do feel better, Sureon told me i need to take baths. So now before each nurse visits me twice a day, i'm supposed to take a 30 minute bath. Pluuuuuleeeeeeeeze!! Like i have nothing better to do. Wait, i don't. But i wish i did!!
It was 64 degrees here today. Things can't be all that bad, right?
