Has anyone heard of an adult having Intussusception? My brother is 34 and had severe abdominal pain a couple days a month for 3 months until finally breaking down and going to the ER. Turns out he had a torn intestine. The surgeon said it looked like he had surgery in the past because there was scar tissue around the intestine which eventually weakened and tore. Because of all the leaking, the sutures from the 1st surgery tore and my brother had to have a 2nd surgery which resulted in a temporary ileostomy, etc. It's been a rough road so far and still a long way to go.
I looked it up and webmd.com and found that it is extremely rare in adults...it usually only happens in young children under the age of 3.
