Really nervous

I just got a call from my surgeon's nurse and she said he wants me to have a CT scan with IV contrast and get additional bloodwork done. I'm so nervous, I don't know what he's looking for or thinks is going on and it's making me really upset. I have such bad memories with all of these tests and hospitals and such. I don't think I can handle anymore bad news right now. sad

Its ok Ash, we're here 4 u just like uv been here 4 me. Is there a way u can call ur docs office to ask him what he's looking for just to ease ur mind? I mean it would only take a few seconds for him to call u back. U wouldn't even have to tell the answering service what ur calling for. Just that u need to speak with him briefly to ask some questions regarding testing.
He could just be trying 2 b pro active and ur racking ur brain for nothing. U never know until u try. Asking might ease ur mind just a little. Have u been feeling ok otherwise?

U probably are just worrying for nothing. I think that's a common denominator when it comes to those of us dealing with these issues. The fact that ur feeling good otherwise is probably a good sign. Just keep urself busy until the letter comes n the mail. And keep us posted! I know I don't have nearly as much as experience as u do. But I'm here to listen whenever u just wanna vent.

I would demand to know what these tests are about. You have the right to know why you are having a test. Can you call your Dr and request that he call you back? Can you call your Dr after hours and having the answering service get him on the phone. Remember, this is YOUR body and these Drs work for YOU. YOU have the right to know what they are doing, why they are doing something, and what the results are. Many Drs forget to inform us, the patient, they just simple tell the nurse to schedule something on our behalf. Well, as much as I appreciate a Dr taking the time to schedule a test, a little information would be nice too.
