Thank Goodness for Ostomy Nurses

Thank goodness for the Ostomy Nurse! Although the Dr. said on the phone, not to worry about the sore around my stoma, I made an appt with the Wound Care Center at the hospital to have the Ostomy nurse take a look at it. My stoma is pretty flat and turned downward and it was making quite an ulcerated area . The nurse helped me to position the eakin seal so that it will, hopefully, have a better seal. My ostomy is temporary, hopefully being reversed within the month. Nevertheless, the nurse really made me feel better just by checking it out and giving me some ideas about trying to heal it up a bit. I was worried about infection, but she assured me that it was OK. I cannot say enough about the nurses and how much their care has helped me get through this!
